Rangoli: Chalk Sikkus

Tried some wellknown sikkus which i got from mother, seen over couple of weeks on my way to work. Somedays I wished I had camera in hand to take the pictures of them. I used my table and the chalk to draw, feel its better to start with chalk to learn sikku kolams.

Dot counts for all 9 to 1.

Rangoli: NaagaBhanda

Happy Naagara Panchami.
Here comes the NaagaBhanda from my collections, just scanned the old book, cleaned a bit and colored.
Dot counts 31 X 16 straight dots.

Rangoli: Dancing Peacocks

After seeing many peacocks getting uploaded, searched my book to get one. This happens to be one of the best dancing peacock design in my collection. Asusual drawn on paper, scanned, colored and decorated Smile in photoshop.

Dot count 23 X 12 - interlaced

Rangoli: Cucumbers for the veggie garden

Again the origami cucumbers...but since i used the plain green paper, they are also looking as different vegitable hmm is it chowchow (tonDekai - kannada)? Symmetry is missing for the center design. I made bell flowers in orangish-yellow paper normally cumcumber flowers are yellow...due to shading some turned out red Smile (original origami designers - Katrin & Yuri Shumakov)....added some quilling touch to the creepers, leaves just modified the bird base to get 3pointed leaf.

Rangoli: Berries for the veggie garden

Felt origami berries are better to give the 3D effect. hence this was made. The berries normally have a dotted/ coarse skin, but I had only the plain redpaper...so can be counted as red capsicum too. There are few unriped green ones too. And berries have white flowers. Will add the fruit basket in another few days Smile and definitely videos over this weekend.

Rangoli: Copycat - Hexagonal Padi Hase

Here is the copy of mOhanaji's Hexagonal Padi rangoli. I have used dots to get somewhat close to it. Drawn on paper and colored using photoshop.
Dot count: 23 X 12

Rangoli: sikku/ chikku kolam borders -2

Here are borders i tried before making them for the iKolam Karnival Banner. The first two fitted properly in the left over dots of the welcome couple and the clowns. But somehow i like the third one.

Your comments and suggestions please.

Dot counts for the motifs mainly 5-3-1 or 6-4-2 and extra as needed to join the motifs.
