For Navrathri, today being friday I tried this maakkolam on the white tile floor, thinking of
Sowmya. While drawing, the wet ezhai is not visible hence some omissions and comissions are there.Hats off to Sowmya's perfection.

Pushpa's recent geometric design tempted me to copy it immediately. On the kitchen top with wet maavu I tried it. Some additions are also made. Before anybody have the coffee taste, sorry copy taste enjoy this.( In commenting tho, filter coffee I could not taste, let me have it in copying atleast)
Julien's simple rangolis I always enjoy and I know her first admirer is her daughter. When I saw this design I remembered Adhirai and this simple rangoli is done for her to enjoy. The butterflies are familier to all. But the fly with butterlike wings are rare no?Have you seen this in the field?
It look so many days for me even to draw on the paper. So I donot think I'll be able to reproduce this on the floor. So uploading the paper drawing for you all to taste.
Just managed to complete the design on the floor with available colour podi.Did not change the paper design. The paper drawing was drawn at a strech within half an hour, but this I did in instalment.... took nearly 2 hours to complete.
Here is the pencil drawing of the extended version of the first design.
Due to shortage of time I thought I'll put only my paper drawings.
No colouring done since Rani already cautioned us of her " colour Damaakka" and I wanred to pay more attention to the developement of the design.( stock of colour podi also not there)
After an hectic travel, body also not cooperating to sit down and do actual rangoli.
So for partcipation sake I am uploading this.May be I'll do the 2nd design properly on a later date.
When I was searching some old files I found a paper with this design drawn in pencil by me. Immediately I draw this kolam on the floor and colored it. The yellow portion is looking like the base for the kolam but in the paper that portion was the main design. So anybody willing to draw this in a different way?
I put a small wet maavu design in the Hall to keep Ganesha idol, but later changed the venue to the pooja room. So after the pooja I had some leisure time and left out arisimaavu. So without any design in the mind kept drawing outside the earlier design and ended up like this. Ofcourse little colouring I have to do to look better.
