The Varamahalakshmi Pooja and celebration, since it was on a work day me and my sister could get only few hours break from work, hence had to use her embroidered rangoli
This is specially for Manjula Madam, with a fond hope that atleast for this we will get a comment from her.
This is a doted kolam, dots for this kolam is 9 x 1 staright dots, and extra designs also ....
This has a central lotus, oval lines instead of straight lines, triangles on four sides, tendrils at four corners, a circular enclosure with flowers and lamps outside the circle. Comments welcome!
Regards! - mOhana
a set of pictures before the home on the evening before varalaxmi pooja.it was cloudy
so the picture is little gloomy!
This is a decoration of Kuthuvilaku done on Varalaksmi Viratham by my mother though we dont have the Nonbhu
This is my pooja shelf where Lakshmi, Ganesha, Saraswathi and Jesus share space(without fighting, mind you)... Now all of you must be wondering what that spotlight on Ganesha is... Well during the month of August every year at around 7 am the sun shines into my house, crosses the hall, passes right through the dining room (my pooja shelf is in the dining room) and strikes only on Gannu for about 20 minutes.... It is such a lovely sight to see, that I could not resist from sharing this here with all of you so yesterday I clicked a picture of this natural wonder for you to see... This reminded me of the temple in Namakkal (Hanuman??)where the sun shines through the roof at around 12 noon (this also I think during some part of the year or is it through the year?)...
This is an another aadi velli kolam in the way of treditional kola maavu and kavipodi.
