colored rice has been used to make this rangoli. the open space in between is for the havan kund. I designed this specially for a friend of mine, she wanted to take her pheras around the rangoli surrounded havan kund.

This is the kalyana kolam. It is two joint kolams of kanya kolam. This is the one we put for marriage and for pondugal and all. It was my neighbour's 70th birthday function i put this kolam and in this kolam the light the fire (homam)
This is the 3rd in my series of Arthi Plates made with turmeric ,betel nut,bangles,flowers and bindi ,all that is auspicious for the wedding.I tried for plastic betel leaves.But could not get it.So I plan to arrange real betel leaves at the time of Arthi.
This was prepared for our marriage house.
Procedure:
1.Spread any Light Colour Sponge for the base.
2.Cut any Dark colour Sponge to the required design.
3.Paste it using Fevicol.
Surely this will give a Grand Look for marriage houses.
This is a free hand padikolam .usually this type of kolams are drawn in front of marriage hall.You can extend this kolams .
My Sister drew this kolam and i coloured the same for my cousin sister's wedding on 28.06.09.
