On the occasion of Rama navami, this is a simple welcome kolam on the portals of our home, with "arisi maa".
After watching Brindha mam doing beautiful metal rangoli, i tried this line kolam in free hand form on a friday.
An easy free form painting, with varied colours add beauty to this bird of paradise plant design.
This is a simple pattern suited for light coloured sarees. Can reverse colours, like yellow flowers on copper brown saree. I used copper glitter paint for flowers and sea and leaf green glitter paint for leaf. Decorate border with bunches and mid area with single flowers adorned with golden yellow stones at center. Mix a drop of water for loading the brush. Excess water would spread and smudge the design. I used zero size brush, can use no 2 if you want bold flowers.
Single flower design for fabric painting. The filling shade looks best on cotton fabric.
This simple embroidery is done with silver and copper decorative thread. Stitch used is filling stitch. Can also be done in machine easily, or ordered to be done from professional artists. Decorate with tilak shaped stone glued or can stitch them, there will be holes for it on the stone. Follow design pattern same as for painting on sarees.
