First, I made this dotted kolam in a simple manner.Then I decorate it in photo shop.For the purpose of view the kolam clear, I sent both kolams.

My sister Indira is very good in freehand, but she is little lazy to draw sikku kolams...so i asked her to do sikku kolam. After a very long time she did this for me..Thanks akka.

Thia is a sona design Padikkolam, with 4 side gopurams and prakaarams.In a small place I have to accomodate this 24 dotted kolam,( hence it took a long time to complete)Once I finished the kolam and put my favourite lavender out line my grand son( three and half year old) said'Fantastic Paatti'. I was thrilled to get such a comment from him .
This kolam is dedicated to Rani/ Veni Jodi, who are flooding the ikolam site with their wonderful chikku kolams.

A 4x3 dot pattern was extended to obtain a 2,4,6,4,2 dot pattern. A single line motif for this dot pattern was made and four of these were assembled to get this new pattern. It is also a woven pattern with just two colours. You may see that this has two perpendicular two fold axes in the plane of the screen and one perpendicular to it. Enjoy!
