Rangoli: Happy Valentine's Day!

Here is a new experiment for the Valentine's day. A 11 x 9 sOnA pattern with a single line was extended with borders as described in http://www.ikolam.com/node/19696 . This forms four heart-like V-shaped patterns with roses in four directions, an apt theme for the day. Overall, this pattern is drawn on a rectangular grid of 15 x 13 dots. For the benefit of newcomers, here are some old rangOlis of mine on the theme of love. Enjoy the day with all your heart Smile

Rangoli: A rangOli with 10x10 dots - 4

This is also a rangOli with 10x10 dots. The interior design was done by another person and the borders were designed by me. The whole rangOli was drawn by me and I used the solarisation technique (overexposing the already exposed) in this. I haven't still mastered the technique. This is still in the experimental stage. Enjoy!

Rangoli: Yet another rangOli with 10x10 dots

This pattern is based on a very ordinary common rangOli with (1,3,5,3,1 in between) in the general parlance or (3x3) square dots in my way. They are joined together. There are many lines in this one unlike the two previous where we had only two lines. But here the symmetry is higher (422). I created in such a way that it reminds one of a stained glass window. Enjoy!

Rangoli: Another rangOli with 10x10 dots

Here is a fusion rangOli with modified 2x3 and 3x4 sOnA patterns. Enjoy!

Rangoli: A rangOli with 10 x 10 dots

Here is a rangOli with 10 x 10 dots. It has four 4x5 sOnA patterns rotated by 90 deg and connected together. Enjoy!

Rangoli: A novel sOnA square

This is a novel sOnA square. In my blog http://www.ikolam.com/node/19870 , I tried to reproduce the rangOli of Mrs saumyA vijay. While the outer pattern is exactly similar to hers, the inner pattern of mine is quite different. I drew a single line pattern for the same dot motif. With that inner pattern of mine, I made a sOnA square with two lines. This is a pattern that can be drawn on a 9 x 9 dot pattern (white dots, green dots are for ornamentation, they do not count). With the remaining dots at the centre, I made a svAstika. You may also see tiny lamps (five dots with a green centre) and kuttuviLakkus distributed throughout. Enjoy!

Rangoli: An extension of an original pattern

I discussed earlier a pattern of Mrs saumya at http://ikolam.com/node/19870 . This did not seem to have been read much by the viewers. In it I mentioned that it is possible to generalise this pattern. Here is one such pattern where a 3x4 sOnA and a 4x3 sOnA are joined and this combined unit is formed as a square with two lines. In the centre is another generalised pattern of the same 3x4 sOnA motif. This has only one line. Enjoy!

Rangoli: Roof to my God's temple - 14

The Star of David was modified and made as the basic motif and decorated to make this roof. This is one more pattern that gave me a lot of happiness. I consider sometime rangOli as a sort of therapy. Whether others like it or not, the individual becomes joyous and gets released from tensions. Enjoy! Regards - mOhana
