The basic motif is a 8x8 one. Four of these are joined at corners. This basic motif is a common recurrence in the Islamic architecture. However, this is similar to the hridayakamalams in its general structure.

Sister Ammuchandini's big kolam shortened with minor alterations and additions.
Recently Indra sunder has made a Ther kolam. 10th being Rathasapthami, I drew this chikku kola Ratham with white kolapodi and did some decorations with Kaavi and orange colors. it took nearly 4 hours to complete.
