- Octagonal magic
- diwali dinner
- Contest Rangoli-Indoor version

- Rangoli at Diwali fair Sydney
- Two-line dotted rangOli
- One line rangOli
- dotted rangoli
This rangoli was drawn in temple by family members & me.we have taken nearly 3 hrs to complete it.
Left top - Take an octagon
Left middle - Cut one of the sides, say the bottom
Left bottom - Make the pattern at the bottom by rotating the cut octagon by 135 deg eight times.
Right - Four of the "octagonal hRidayakamalams" are joined to get this pattern, further decorated with lamps and a flower. If you try to join four hRidayakamalams this is how the pattern will look like.
Enjoy! Regards - mOhana
 LAST WEEK 12/11/2011,we had a diwali dinner(i know it's rather late) at our place.i did this rangoli as a gesture to welcome the guest.thank god i took this photo before the function because almost 500 of them turned up and just imagine wat would have happened at the end of the function enjoy viewing.have a great day:)colours-colour powder@ rangoli powder/white stuff-rava@sujipowder.
Hai to all....actually this freehand rangoli was done by me for the diwali contest....but somehow i felt the outcome was not satisfatory....only then i tried an outdoor one....please do me a favour by telling me which one is better...eagerly waiting for ur comments...
A very simple and easy design of 3x3 dot kolam was copied and again and again pasted to get this design.in all four corner I pasted only half design of the kolam.
This rangoli was drawn by indian rangoli group at stadium for diwali fair in Sydney this year.sharing with you.

Dots - 3, 7, 11, 11, 11, 7, 3
Number of lines - 2
Actually the pattern ends with the yellow and purple lines. The extensions are shown by the red and cyan colours
Symmetry - 222 (Three mutually perpendicular two-fold axes or 180 deg rotations)
Remarks - (1) This too has bearing on the problem I posed in the cafe section. (2) This pattern will be really nice when drawn in the pUjA room or on a wooden slab.

Dots - 1,3,7,9,11,9,7,3,1 (no 5-dot row)
No of lines - 1
This rangOli has some bearing to the problem I posed.
