Rangoli: Ganesha Kolam
Created by judelined on 2009-03-25,

Dots : 25 (5 lines) ends with 5...

This cute Ganesha can don your pooja room on any festive occassion I am sure... the Ganesha was the basic kolam which I had copied from a book years ago... I developed the mandap and the offerings myself later on.... I had actually made it in black and white which I loved and wanted to upload as it is - because I too believe that black and white is always best looking.... but Anita tempted me to colour it and this is the outcome.... more Ganeshas to follow soon.

The festival of "UGAADI"is celebrated on the first day of Telugu/Kannada new year .each year has got it's own specific name. The name for this new year is "Virodhi nama varsha" on 27-3-2009.

On this day telugu people prepare "UGAADI PACHADI"(chutnee}using six ingredients(SHADRUCHIES}such as SALT,GREEN CHILLIES {in some places pepper is also used}TAMARIND,NEEM FLOWERS,JAGGERY AND RAW MANGOES.The philosophy behind this is that life is a mixture of experiences and we have to face it with an even mind.
Pavan, bharathi& myself create a rangoli using above items in photoshop.

WE WISH ONE AND ALL A HAPPY UGAADI.

THANKS.

Lakshm,Bharathi,Pavan.

Rangoli: rangOli with strings
Created by jkmrao on 2009-03-25,

I have created two ordinary well-known rangOlis with strings.

Why with strings? The lines have no thickness. Therefore if one draws rangOlis
with lines, then the third dimension is lacking. So mirror reflections are quite
common. But since strings have thickness, these types of symmetries are eliminated.
We get only pure rotational symmetries in the rangOlis. In each of the given rangOlis,
there are two strings that interweave. One can see these alternately going up
and down. Since I used nylon material, the strings are taut and I have to use
cellophane tape so that the strings follow the pattern drawn on paper.

Please feel free to comment. Regards! - mOhana

Rangoli: Woollen Rangoli
Created by r.suganthy on 2009-03-25,

Procedure:
1. Cut the colour woollen thread into small pieces.
2. Then grind it in kitchen mixie (if you cut it into large piece, then your mixie will be under repair). It will become a cotton.
3. Draw any design in chart paper.
4. Now paste cotton (woollen thread)in the chart paper, according to that design.
