This cocks comb and rubber samandhi (as they call it here in Chennai) arrangement decorated my entrance last week.... these yellow flowers have recently flooded Chennai market... anyone know the botanical name for this one??? i am curious...
Just wanted to share this pookolam with my friends in ikolam.
I change the flowers twice a week depending on the type of flowers that are available.

This rangoli is made up of Samanthi flowers and Rose petals. This rangoli comprises of many star designs.
First leave all the flowers in different plates...select a design with the available colours of the flowers and then draw the design on the floor using chalk...apply a paste on the floor so that the flowers stay in its place, in spite of any breeze on the top floors....apply the paste on a particular part and immediately scatter the flowers on the sticky part and proceed similarly!
Kamalika had made this beautiful welcome rangoli for an office function.
