Krishna Jayanthi Kolams

Rangoli: Krishna (or Christ) in a swing

This is a rangOli created by me and my dear wife Kala back in 1980 at the time of Christmas holidays. I started the tradition of creating my own card from then onward. When I saw latAji's animated rangOli, I remembered this and dug it out. Here it is.

Rangoli: Krishna's feather

In lIlASuka's SrIkRshNa karNAmRtam, there is a SlOka (sragviNi metre)
which runs like this:

aMganA maMganA maMtarE mAdhavO
mAdhavaM mAdhavaM cAMtarE nAMganA
ittha mAkalpitE maMDalE madhyagaH
saMjagau vENunA dEvakInaMdanaH

He stands between two dancing damsels
and there is a woman between two identities of His
At the centre of the circle constructed thus
dEvakI's son plays the flute,
O, what a divine melody!

This is the first poem in rAsakrIDAshTakam.

I cannot draw peacocks like many of you.
I thought a feather will do to represent Him.

Rangoli: Baby Krishna

I drew this picture of Baby Krishna in my Tamil class, two years ago, when I was 8 years old.

Rangoli: Peaceful 2009

2009 just born..let us wish and pray it will be a peaceful year through out the world
(look out for the 2009 baby inside the cradle, reaching out for the dove of PEACE).

Rangoli: Krishna

It was taken from a picture. I drew it first and then coloured.
