This rangoli was created with waste coconut scrappings after mixing colour to it.. Just outlined it with colour kolapodi.. Sorry about the same old colours I need to buy more soon 
Seeing so many flowers blooming in ikolam garden recently, I too was tempted to do one pookolam but no flowers what to do?? Suddenly I remember an old neighbour of mine - she was a malayalee and used to do lovely pookolams for those 10 days before onam.. Now malayalees are famous for using coconut milk in lots of their dishes so after squeezing the milk from the coconut she used to save the scrappings and mix different colours to it and dish out lovely pookolams.. Last weekend I made malai chicken for which I too used coconut milk and remembered to keep the coconut waste to try my hand at coconut rangoli.. Since I did not have many colours on hand, with whatever colour that was available I had to be satisfied with one solitary flower... I did not have the heart to remove it once it was completed so I just added frills and have enclosed the three different stages for you all to see and (hopefully) enjoy
Ok friends, here comes some more borders.. Just a couple of birdies arranged in different orders to give it a different look...
Actually this was almost the first big chikku kolam that I created on photoshop. forgot to upload it earlier, just discovered it in one of the folders so it is. It is a single line kolam and though it seems very complicated it is very very simple once you try it
The day this kolam was displayed I copied it on a piece of paper and made the base on photoshop but due to electricity fluctuations at my place could not work on it after that.. Just today I saw Lata's post to say that tomorrow was the last day for submission so in a hurry I completed the kolam with some experimented effects and hope everyone likes it... I am posting the kolam that's drawn on paper and the re-creation on photoshop...
