Oh, your kolam smeeling nicely. so u can afford to put Santhanam kolam is it?Even manjal podi will give this effect when mixed with wet rice maavu. This chikku kolam has come out neatl.

Your first 'scented' chikku kolam?? I don't believe it!! Looks too good for a first attempt. Extremely neat work and beautiful symmetry. I am sure the whole place would have had a wonderful smell for a long time :)
This is a lovely kOlam! I like it. The colour too is catchy :-) By the way, pardon my ignorance, what is santAnam powder? I know what santAnam is and what powder is, but not what the combination means.

Sandhanam powder is sandalwood powder. You get sandalwood powder balls available in stores. We just have to mix a ball with some water, in order to get the paste, for our use (this is what we use for Chandan-kumkum bindis for the god's pictures/shrines etc)

hello everyone...well, ive dona a few rangoli's using broken rice before bt this is my first attempt at chikku kolam..i can do free-hand drawing..so, i guess dat gave me advantage in doing this type of kolam..thanx alot for all d comments:)
nice sikku scented kolam. i had tried this on paper to copy partially for the border but got knotted :( ... hence left it half a way, may be next time should give a try.
