This is a pomegranate design (maadhulam koththu) rangoli. It has 9, 8, 7, 6, 5 dot pattern with the sides having 2, 3, 2, 1 dot pattern. I have used rice flour and rangoli color powders. It took me nearly 3 hours to get this ready.

my another kolam with lot of flowers and leaf with straight dots17-2,2.
One of the kolams drawn in margazhi...I used kolam powder and colours
This was my first attempt to draw a mehendi design on paper. I started off by drawing some concentric circles with a compass and began filling it with all the detail using ball point pen. Then went over the whole thing with the mehendi paste and in the end, added some gold and black beads which I had with me. I think this can also make a good rangoli design on the floor.
This is a small kolam which I made on the available place.
Picked this from Judy's kolam collection. Kudos to Judy!!!
Here comes another set of rangolis for the occassion. I tried to do a rangoli 'Lakshmi style' on my kitchen top with kolapodi and this is what I landed up with. Though it not so perfect, since it had some heart shapes, I thought I'd upload it today. After I finished clicking a picture I was removing the kolapodi from the slab when I realised that it was making a base texture and suddenly Manjula's rangoli came to my mind and with my fingertip I just casually drew a usual freehand rangoli which I photographed and combined with the first rangoli since this also had some heart like shapes - hope you all like it
