After a long time I am uploading one of my pookolams. I made this arrangement last month when I had been to the flower market to purchase roses for a function in Anita's college (inauguration of the theatre group of Madras University). There were loads of roses and I went crazy picking from a variety of colours and sizes. I tried to take pictures inside the market but because it was around 6.30 am and the lighting inside the market was not too good the photographs have a different look altogether. I will upload them in the cafe soon for you to see... The roses in this urli stayed fresh for about 10 days (thanks to the recent Chennai climate)..

Even though Kaarthigai is over and Marghazhi has started I still have more lamp kolams which I am uploading. They can always be tried for this month too
First day of Marghazhi was a wet day and the rain played spoil sport and I could not put a kolam outside my house - instead I did one on the computer and am uploading it here. I am sure many are familiar with this lotus kolam. Dot count - straight dots 20 (5 lines) ends with 5.
Straight dots: 13 - 13
Here again another simple lamp kolam which can be developed as per your imagination..
Interlaced dots: 11 - 6
This is another simple lamp kolam which many of you might already know - I am trying out new applications and textures on photoshop (just got the guts to experiment) and hope they all come out well...
Straight dots: 10 - 10
Another simple lamp kolam which I have developed from a base. I am sure this is quite easy too.
Straight dots: 10 - 10
Here is a combination of 4 different lamp kolams with the same number of dots.. Small changes make the entire kolam look different. I am sure all of you also can make changes and make new kolams - just try and see...
