Marghazhi Kolams
About Marghazhi Kolams : PRINT
First day of Marghazhi was a wet day and the rain played spoil sport and I could not put a kolam outside my house - instead I did one on the computer and am uploading it here. I am sure many are familiar with this lotus kolam. Dot count - straight dots 20 (5 lines) ends with 5.

Priya I am so happy to receive such words of praise - thanks to Lata and her website for that, without which this could not have been possible. I am honoured and promise to keep on dishing out whatever I can to continue this wonderful tradition of kolams which we are proud owners of

Lakshmi2000 I will try to find my small lotus kolams and upload just for you to put outside your apartment - atleast then we hope to see some of your creations too...
Brindha thanks for the great 'TITLE" hehe (thanks for your wishes too)....
Madhu pleasure is mine - you are welcome anytime. The sole purpose of making things easy and clear is so that anyone can learn. It was not so easy for me when I started learning as I had to figure out the dots and the connections without any help at all - but my basic interest in this wonderful and absorbing art made me crave for more and more and soon I became graduate (I think so) in kolam making. I would love for all beginners to learn and carry on making lovely kolams so that it goes down for generations to come..
Yes Anirudh this is a very common kolam and because of the texture it looks different..
Thank you Pushpa for your wish and comments...
