This dotted 2011 rangoli has 15 dots in five rows at the center. And the number of dots decreases to 13, 11, 9, 7, 5 on either ends (right and left sides). Here's to new beginnings, a new 2011! Have a happy and a prosperous New Year.

Here is wishing you all a very happy new year! This rangOli is made starting from a motif that has 20 dots in rows and 11 dots in columns (for the year 2011). This is a sona pattern with a single line. The inside of this is scooped out with the numerals 2,0,1,1 in such a way that we still have a single line even after this exercise. This is rotated by 90, 180, 270 degrees and arranged with one square overlap to give a sona square with two lines. The overall symmetry is low (only two-fold rotation). The central space is filled with apt decorations. This is a complicated chikku kOlam. Enjoy!

This kolam is especially made for our friends. The concept is "Kattalininda Belakinedege" means "from darkness towards light". I wanted to wish all my friends through this kolam hence I did this at 10pm yesterday on the terrace.The brightness is adjusted to depict darkness towards light. you can observe that in the brightness.I am going out of station on 30th and I will be back on 3rd, Jan, 2011. Hence I WISH ALL IKOLAM FRIENDS A VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR - 2011. LET YOUR LIFE BE FILLED WITH HAPPINESS ALWAYS. LET ALL YOUR WISHES AND DREAMS COME TRUE.
The dot count is self explanatory. Inadvertently somebody has stamped on the kolam, which was observed only later on.
