This is a small apartment kolam with 6 by 6 dots. I made my class kids draw a kolam based on this grid, for Diwali. They all enjoyed doing it with step by step instructions. Will upload that also soon.
This kolam is also an oldest pattern slightly modified. The dot count is 9-5 inbetween dots, then 2-1 on all the six sides.The yellow colored design is called ' Paavaikkai or bittergaurd' design, we all would have put this so many times. The centre will be usually a star design which I have changed in to a flower design. In the outer colomn also instead of paavaikai, I put small girls like design going around, hoping the younger generations also will continue this Kolam Art.
This is a simple 4(2) to 2 kolam. As the floor was white I drew the kolam with kavi powder. Hope you like the new experiment.
