I donot waste/throw flowers after pooja. Store it in fridge and make pookolam when I find time. This design I drew with kolapodi and my maid Anita, (who is interested in kolam) only filled the flowers with my guidance. After I took the photo my grandson Neel had a good time making his own design all over thge place. We had a good time cleaniing the petals. rajamma

Reminds me of bangalore! what colorful flowers we get over there, esp. at Gandhi Bazar. Its a nice idea to store puja flowers and make pookolam. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you all for the nice comments. As Alamelu madam said in kerala it is called Pookalam( not pookkolam). Prema, it is very easy to fill the design with flowers than colorpodi. It will not take much time.Touching the flowers gives a cooling effect to the fingers.Sumathi, the centre green color is the calyx of the violet flower, put upside down. Naviprem, So u r from Blore now settled somewhere and longing for Gandhibazaar shopping?( come and join us for Bangalore meet on 18th april)Tomoro I'I'll convey all your appreciation to Anita. rajamma
