Nice rangOli to herald the dIpAvaLi evening! The medley of colours certainly reminds me of the evening sky. If only I can imagine a pattern like this in the evening sky! We always used to have some beautiful sunsets with such lovely colours when I was in Madurai. In fact our son (then about three or four) liked the colours so much that he beagn to cry when they vanished and darkness set in! sandhyArAga always evokes memories of the tyAgarAja song j~nAnamosagarAdA garuDagamana and also the beautiful kannaDa movie with the same name (original kannaDa novel - anakRu) with some great songs by bhImsEn jOshi and baalamuraLIkRshNa.
