Hi Vasanthi, to prepare wet rice maavu for the kolam, u have to soak rice for an hour or so and grind it to a fine paste. Dont use too much water while grinding, u can add water later on if required. The consistency of the rice flour should be like thick milk. Dip a small piece of cloth in this and applying slight pressure to your ring finger holding the cloth, start drawing the desired design. Hope this helps u out. if u have any doubts, pls feel free to ask me dear.

A lovely treat for us Pushpa. For me it looks as if the top little ones are rehearsing for a long flight while the elders monitoring their fly :). . Have you used kaavi or brown podi?

Thanks Judy for the comments. What I received, I am passing it over dear (they are the same notes from the class u and Rajamma maam taught me). All of you encouraged me so much while I started off doing maakolams, I am doing the same dear.
