My mother makes this differently, she calls it Mahalaxmi kolam, I tried but not that successful.

In the limited space available I put dotted kolams. Dot count is 7,6,5,4 on both sides, naduppulli. In this dots I have developed some 50 kolams, useful for beginners, will send if all like it.
In front of my flat at bangalore I have a little black color granite slab to put small kolam everyday. Like for some people Anil and Ant visit them, mine was tasted by the early morning breeze.
This is a chain made with chalk piece. My daughter did this a couple of years back. She carved out this chain from a chalk piece. The length of the chain was the length of a chalk piece. Since it is very fragile, whatever I could save from that, I have kept it inside a box.
This is a free hand drawing. First we have to spread the kolam powder, then using stick, we can draw any design on it. We can also use colour powder.
