Even though spring officially arrived couple of weeks ago, we have had mostly wintry like conditions. After a weekend of rainy storms, today happened to be the first full sunny day with temperature in the 60s. Looks like it is going to heat up some more in the next couple of days, before the rains return for the weekend

Where are the snows that were piled high touching the mail box?
Where is the white mantle that covered everything as far as the eye can see?
Where is the look of whiteness that adorned every nook?
The snows have melted, the cold is gone, the whiteness has evaporated!
Tender green shoots, lovely flowers of all hues
and the shrill cries of the song birds fill the scene.
All sitting in a circle at Jaya's house chatting, Jaya's husband Mr Mohan clicking pictures for us too, then photoshop session (just look at the obedient students), and finally thamboolam at Rani's house (Rani's mother-in-law in blue saree) and Jaya's house (Lakshmi do you have anything extra in that packet??)
This was also such a fun experience - everyone trying their hand at maakolams
