Happy Mother's Day!

You're the sun that illumines my mind's firmament
You're the moon whose soft beams bathe me tenderly
You're the star of my eyes and the light of my life
You're my humble, but proud gift to the world forever

When you became my child, I became your mother
When you cried, part of me cried
When you laughed, part of me laughed
When you began to grow, I too began to grow

Garden in full bloom!

The "Let's get growing" flower and butterfly rangolis have been published. Please click on the flower-labels to see the preview of the rangoli. The butterfly tags should lead you to the butterfly rangolis. If you have submitted more than a few rangolis, there might still be one or two rangolis saved up for publishing sometime next week. Since there are more than twenty rangolis, we wouldn't be publishing any more rangolis for this week. I'm sure the fragrance and the sight of these garden beauties is going to keep you too busy for the entire week!

Hectic schedule

Hello all, the last few days have been very busy for me, and at this point I think that I'll be able to get back to ikolam work only on Saturday. Sorry for the delay in opening the garden. I hope you'll understand. Thank you so much.

Modern Love poems

SAtavAhana hAla was supposed to have ruled the southern India in the early centuries of the Christian era. He is said to have written 700 poems in prAkRta. Unlike most poetic works of that era which dealt with gods and kings, these dealt with the themes of love, nature, union, separation, etc. I was trying to imagine how hAla would have written his poems in the modern era. Enjoy!

Earth Day

Earth Day is now observed on April 22, in all the countries on Earth. I'm sure many of us have taken a step, inspired to make a difference, however small it may be. Planting seeds and plants has been on our minds for a while now, since it is springtime where we live. And that's exactly what we've done - planted Marigolds, Dusty Miller, and some daisies too. Our simple acts for Earth day.

Caution!

This is just a friendly warning letting our members know that unfortunately or fortunately, some of our members' butterflies have been hijacked by the iKolam white butterflies. Please don't hold us responsible because we have nothing to do with this. In fact, this is our members' fault, since they are the ones who made their butteflies extremely beautiful and attractive! Smile

The Meet!!

Okay now, I guess it is my turn to vent out my restlessness! I just talked to our blue beauties, a while ago, and took my turn to say "hello" to most of the assembled members. And now, I can't help talking to myself; "What the hell am I doing here!?" Sad
Why am I so unlucky, always? Stupid me, stupid life...BOO HOO HOOOO Cray 2
(c'mon brain, just shut the hell up and go to bed).
