Our Rangoli Pot Brimmeth Over...

Hi everybody,

I'm happy to report that the rangoli queue keeps filling over, and for the first time in all these 4 years, I am not able to upload as fast as members send... and I'm so happy to share this with you all.

If you've been waiting to view your designs in the site, please bear with me for a few more days. I haven't forgotten that some of you had sent many designs at a single stretch during the contest days, some of it have been published, while others aren't. If you were a contest participant, by this time, you should be able to find your contest-entries in your folder in the Gallery section. There will be a separate category for the craft-items too, which should showcase pictures of different craft projects. I would keep you posted with regular updates. Thank you.

Here is our feedback regarding the contest voting...

It was a wonderful experience hosting this kolam contest and I would like to thank you for sharing your art with all of us.
For ikolam, each entry is a winner the moment it went up on the "display board". In a day or two, all of the entries should get settled in their respective folders in the gallery section.

We also feel that the voting has been a fair and an unfair one for the following reasons:

In our opinion, it was a fair voting because the public got a chance to vote - the participants as well as the members of ikolam. Members had sufficient time to vote, the voting poll was up for 3 days which should have been enough to cover all time zones.

The voting results will be posted before the end of the day.

As you all know, the results of the Margazhi kolam contest will be posted today (9:00pm Pacific Standard Time).

In the mean time, I wanted to let some of our ikolam friends know that their uploaded kolams and rangolis are in the queue. Since I'm a little hard-pressed for time this week, I would need a few more days to upload them in the site. I've received your messages and emails pertaining to this matter (I just wasn't able to answer to all of my emails, individually, yet). Some of you have uploaded the same images that you'd uploaded a week ago, probably because of the delay. There is really no need to repeat the uploading process.

I hope you'll bear with me, and I thank you for your patience.

It's voting time in ikolam!

The dotted-rangoli contest attracted a lot of attention and we'd received entries from forty-five members. The voting page is now open, so please get ready to hit the site and vote!.

All the entries submitted for the contest have been assembled in the Voting page, and the page has the necessary directions.

Our contestants have shown great commitment in creating beautiful dotted rangolis, and they all deserve a fair voting. We would highly encourage everybody to browse through all of the entries and vote for them.

The polls will be open for 3 days and the results will be announced on the 23rd of this month (9:00pm PST). We thank all of our participants and wish them the very best!

Here is to the dotted kolams, the pride of South India!

Kolam Contest Participants

Dear friends/kolam contest participants,

We've a problem. Some of you haven't used the given title for the kolams that might've been uploaded for the kolam contest. Without the proper title, it is becoming harder to distinguish between regular kolams to be uploaded in the site, and the ones meant for the dotted-kolam contest. If you've used words like "contest" in the title while submitting the entry, then it is fine, but if you've used words like "margazhi", or "kolam", it does not indicate that those are meant for the contest. I've contacted some of you through emails and have received the responses. Please email me your user_id and your names, if you think you don't remember what title you've used or if you just aren't sure. We don't want to disappoint anyone Smile
Thank you.
