My son was there among the millions who watched the Obama
inauguration on the Washington mall. He and his friends
slept in a nearby friend's office overnight (Monday) and
were there on the mall by 6:30 or so in the morning. Those
who came after an hour could not get in even though they had
tickets. There is standing room only for more than six hours!
They had a pixel event. That is, all the photographs taken
at that time were compiled and a giant photograph was created.
Interestingly, he sent me yesterday a copy of him in the crowd
of two millions zoomed in from that giant photograph!
Of course, I watched the event at home on TV with my wife.
Since Frederick (50 miles northwest of DC) is outside the
holiday zone, one has to take leave to watch the event
Yes, it was a memorable and momentous event.

How exciting! I'm so amazed at the younger generation's energy-level and enthusiasm. My indian neighbor/friend's daughter managed to get a ticket from some "connections", and had gone too from her college. I'll come to hear about her experience in our next monthly potluck get-together. Anyway, I think it was an inspiring day for people who were watching from home as well, suddenly the "can do" attitude seems more realistic
