24th Jan which is the Amavasya day of this (Thai month in tamil) Makara month is very auspicious for the Goddess ...She changed an Amavasya day to Poornima by throwing one of Her earrings in to the sky which became a beautiful bright full moon for one of Her devotees...When the king asks the devotee what day it was (then) though it was an Amavasya day, thinking of the Goddess he says it was Poornima...The Goddess made sure that Her devotee's answer was true
