My mother makes this differently, she calls it Mahalaxmi kolam, I tried but not that successful.
12-12 straight dots kolam. i think these elephants welcome ugadhi to our home
one more from my precious collections
"Rangoli Baayari" is/was a famous rangoli artist from Udupi of Karnataka, his books on rangoli are awesome, many of my scanned images are his creations, which i have tried to write in my reference book.
Dots: 15 X 15
This is a 21 x 1 dots rangoli, center line of 21 and then followed by 19, 17, 15 to 1 on each side. Very easy and beautiful.
This is a dotted kolam. Dots for this kolam : 21x1 straight dots, and 4 sides 7 dots 4 lines and 5,3,1.
This amazingly elaborate rangoli was made by Veena Mathur on the occasion of Diwali. She started out with a rough free-hand sketch on the floor with a chalk and then used rangoli colours to colour it. It took her four hours from start to finish for this rangoli.
