Wish you all a very happy, healthy and prosperous New Year...This is the rangoli which was done in our common area for new year. A well known design done by me and by my friend Archana for our floor....your views please...

Dear friends,
It has been a fun year working with all of you! And I look forward to another brand new creative working year ahead.
This dotted 2011 rangoli has 15 dots in five rows at the center. And the number of dots decreases to 13, 11, 9, 7, 5 on either ends (right and left sides). Here's to new beginnings, a new 2011! Have a happy and a prosperous New Year.
-Lata & Mani
13 x 13 dots. Then 9 (2) dots on all four sides. Taken from a supplement to Mangaiyar Malar issue.
Here is wishing you all a very happy new year! This rangOli is made starting from a motif that has 20 dots in rows and 11 dots in columns (for the year 2011). This is a sona pattern with a single line. The inside of this is scooped out with the numerals 2,0,1,1 in such a way that we still have a single line even after this exercise. This is rotated by 90, 180, 270 degrees and arranged with one square overlap to give a sona square with two lines. The overall symmetry is low (only two-fold rotation). The central space is filled with apt decorations. This is a complicated chikku kOlam. Enjoy!
