Kept ONE Roja, around that with TWO color powders put THREE dots in THREE lines and drew FOUR EIGHTs running on all 4 directions. With FIVE /petal flowers decorated it. To give company made 4 SIXes stand near the flowers. In the 4 corners with the help of SEVEN dots planted paavakkai/veggi design. Made fencing to guard them with 20 NINEs.
YOU all wondering what is happening to me?
He... he... I was dreaming what will be the next dot count Lata will be announcing next!In the middle of the sleep got up and played with dots and made this midnight masala kolam.
( Repaced fresh flowers in the morning before taking the photo.)
I used Sowmya mam's recent pattern as my Friday Kolam. I have done this kolam by chalk piece near my door steps..Friends your views please.
Here are four patterns in a collage form with 5x5 dots (or 1 to 9 to 1 if rotated by 45 deg). Since these are small, I thought I'll put them all together instead of posting separately. Enjoy!

A very small kolam was copied and pasted to four sides to make it a big kolam.you may use this method to any small kolam.
LOVE BIRDS ON FLOWERS.THIS KOLAM WAS PUT ON FOR PONGAL INSTED OF THE REGULAR TRADITIONAL PONGAL POT KOLAM
Usually, we used certain shapes to make sikku kolam.I have given some basic shapes and showed how to make small and big kolam with these.compare the shapes with sikku kolams.
this sikku kolam is 7-7 dots with extra dots on all sides. u will see the bigger version of the similiar kolam in the next kolam of ammas. happy to tell that amma has learnt to type the comments on her own and has typed few yesterday and today.
Here is another 85 dot kOlam or 7x7 square. This has four 2x5 sOnA patterns. With a 7x7 dot structure, 3x4 and 2x5 are the only sOnA possibilities at the corners. This type of four 2x5 patterns left a bigger central void where I drew a very familiar pattern. As always, enjoy! Regards! - mOhana
