Lakshmi, the border is as elaborate as the rangoli it contains! I'm seriously thinking of extracting the border out and saving it as a border for rangolis in another area. If this is the kind of rangolis you (women in your family) create in day to day life, what kind of rangolis do you women create during weddings? My guess is, the same kind of rangolis either with color powder and/or also with rice batter. Give us some names if you have any particular kinds of rangolis that women in your family make.

What a beautiful rangOli! It is like a magic carpet taking one to lands unseen and climes unknown! LakshmidEvIji, wonderful work! Yea, haribhUma is the most important dinner in weddings. Everyone will eat to heart's content, except the poor bride and the groom, as all people's one eye will be on their banana leaf and another on the couple who are supposed to share the leaf and eat. May be sometimes, they have another snack after the main event! If the muhUrtam is during day, they will have the bhUma in the evening. But nowadays with a short time span for marriages, everything will follow in succession. Regards! - mOhana
