Flowers

Quite a good rangOli. Nicely coloured and maintained symmetry. But one observation though. Six petalled flowers are rare and so are the ones with four petals. Normally flowers are five petalled. Five is always associated with growth and the symmetry is thus "dyanamic" and not static. But the problem is rangOlis are associated with translation, that is pattern repetition along two directions. Five-fold symmetry is not compatible with such translations. Occasionally one can get five-fold symmetry with great difficulty. This is a characteristic of some Islamic patterns. Regards! - mOhana
