Amazing work Rajam - I love the way you have dressed this simple kolam to look so exquisite - the green and white dots reminds me of the gentleman who took part in the Mylapore kolam contest - he made a kolam with swastik shapes with dashes just like this - B E A U T I F U L is all I can say for now..

Since this kolam got published along with other 10x10 group kolamsby mistake , it escaped the attention of other members. Actually I wanted to tell you people that the green color ( Pachai nirame pachai nirame , as Suba was singing) was a mixture of green rangoli powder +...................? can you guess? rajamma

Beautifully coloured chikku pattern with very artistically done dotted lines design. The green colour is so finely spread - is it mixed with rice flour?? -Sindhuja

Wonderful Display. The color combination looks too nice and the green (pachaipayiru-greendhaal) color recalls the song. No guesses made? Have you mixed green color with salt, this time not with coconut gratings. RajamAmma I will be back to know the answer :)

Sindhu and Vinci, it is the mixer of ordinary color powder with river sand( Aattru manal).I f you filter the manal u will get fine powder, mix it with color powder well, then add a FEW drops of water, again mix it well and dry in nizhal ( shadow) inside. This is very fine and easy to fill . I have used this in Man Madan Ambu kolam also. rajamma

Thanks for the reply RajamAmma. I have heard about the river sand, but never tried it.. Maybe I'll make a try when I visit the beach next time..
