Ok, I think I'm ready to comment now. Rajamma mam, you've fed us so much, it literally took me a day to digest the meal! :) I still keep gazing at your rangoli many times a day. The idlis are the fluffiest that I've ever seen or eaten. Is it my imagination, or is it for real...the idlis have the fluffy touch to them, whereas the vadais have the crispy texture (the way we eat/make them in real life). And, I'm sure I saw the edges of Kesari glisten with ghee around them! I'm sure the nuts are real though. Aren't they, or is there a trick to that too? How did you get the veins of the leaf looking so realistic? Did you draw those first before spreading color over them, or did the veins got drawn after the color was spread all over the leaf? I'm glad you served us a middle leaf section. One thing my mom tried to teach me was : which way does the end piece (tip) of the banana leaf go, is it to the right or left? I had always done that part according to my convenience, and took a glass with me for the payasam. I didn't enjoy eating rasam, so I'd always skip that part too :) Lakshmi and I let mOhanaji use the chair (we were more keen on grabbing a vada each, as there were only 3 of them :), there was plenty of dessert so Asha had no problems helping herself to more than one serving! By the way, Kesari is our most favorite sweet. Thank you so much for such a grand meal! It was fun to eat that surrounded with all of our friends. But, sorry we didn't bother to offer you any :) I've eaten all those items many times before, but don't recall seeing breakfast being presented so beautifully (I'm only speaking for me here). I've made them all too, but don't remember taking effort for presentation. I plan to serve the way you've served in the future, but of course with real food :) My last thought: where was Shashank the whole time you were working on this??

rajamma - nice treat..... have you heard of "Kushboo Idli"??? well your idlis reminds me of that.... soft, big and fluffy (the actual texture of a Kushboo Idli), the vadai has curry leaves here and there and the chutney has the seasoning of mustard seeds as well not to leave out the rasins and cashews donning the kesari - and of course as lata mentioned the veins of the banana leaf are so accurate - very good detailing......... thanks for the visual treat..........

Lata,I never thought You will enjoy this so much.It was drawn spontaneously after seeing Lakshmi's Good morning kolam. It took only 15 minutes to draw, only leaf took some time( lines were drawn later). Since rava kesari is the easiest sweet to make and had that color rocksalt ready i served that.presentation was not thought just happened in that way. anyhow I am happy that you all like it. when we meet in person( hope and pray for that) the real breakfast, lunch , dinner and hot coffee/tea will be served with love. O.K?

Asha,Brintha,Indira,Lakshmi, Judiline and Madhuharini, thank you all for tasting the breakfast and sending your lovely comments. Lakshmi,Your tea is very tasty. Judiline, Yes I know 'kushboo Idli'.Thanks for your minute obsrvations. no time to draw cashewnut ans resin so used real ones.I like to serve hot idli in bananaleaf. The white idli with red molagapodi in a green leaf looks great no?.( Novelist Sivashankari has described it in one of her novel). Madhuharini, how about you serving something for us. I like your name.(mmm... i call my son 'Madhu'). Lata, nowadays Sashank never touches the kolams, but enjoys and comments. One day i did not put kolam in the entrance,He said "Paati, why you didnot put kolam? I am upset.".so I have to draw a SASHANK kolam immediately.

Great thing, Rajam mam. Nice idea. Idli is my favourite breakfast item. I love idlis like anything. That too, if it is hot, then I don't know how much will i eat. i use to tell my mom, to server idli in my plate directly from the Idli cooker. Mahalakshmi
