Gods Gift
Dear Friends, I am not a good writer yet on this Father's Day I would like to share the feelings in my heart with all of you. Some thoughts are silly and may not be well written yet I am sure you will understand and disregard all those.
What can I say about the person I love the most in the whole world and what can I say about a person who never believes in Happy Father's Day concept
He is my superhero, teacher, guide, the most selfless person I have ever known, kindhearted to the core, and affectionate, living a simple life even though he has all the capacity to have what he wants, loving like a mother, and most of all the most wonderful Dad and not to forget the self-dependent person that he is (never ever ever likes to take other's help but goes out of his way to help others). His entire world revolves around us, finding ways to keep us happy always, thinking always how to provide us with all the luxuries in life. I remember asking him if he has any desires in life and he told me he has none. My Dad has been not only our (both my elder sisters included) father but a mother as well. While my mother worked in a different district to give a decent life for us, my father was there taking care of his office work as well as taking care of us, cooking, cleaning, plaiting our hair, giving us a bath. All these nostalgic feelings make me want to go back to being a child again in the cosy carefree life under the shadow of our parents. I cannot forget the Sundays we spent when we were children. The lovely lunch prepared with hand ground masala (no mixie during that time) by my dad and the lovely stories told by him to put us to sleep and me lying in the cocoon of his warm arms listening to the stories he used to tell us. I still remember how much time Dad used to spend with us, the entire free time after office hours was spent with us and the weekends were something we would look forward to, good food, cycling to temples with my Dad, and the lovely strolls doing window shopping. As we grew up, things changed, difference of opinions, arguments etc, etc, were there, yet the love and affection never changed. The pride I saw in his eyes when I was promoted to ICSE, the pride I saw in his eyes when I danced to a popular classical number, the pride I saw in his eyes displaying the cartoon painting (that I had done) to his friend is something I would cherish my whole life. All this may seem meaningless and stupid to some but for me it means a "LOT". I learnt to think with my heart which he taught me (and which many disagree upon) I am glad he taught me this not in words but in action. I remember the way many disagree with the fact that he prepares an everyday morning coffee/lassi for the vegetable vendor, lunch for anyone who comes saying he is hungry, and the cooldrinks he provides to the salesman/woman who come to our doorstep, and not to forget the lunch he is still providing to the elderly lady down our lane since she has no one to take care of her, but he has taught me by doing this how it feels to give, the magical joy one feels when you do this. Thanks for teaching me to be kindhearted to everyone, to be selfless in this form of your action.
Dad, I remember the time you were hospitalized and I saw you on the gurney. My world fell apart, my hero lying down there was something I could not come to terms with. I was like a small child holding on to God's photo in one hand and praying to God to give you back to us, blackmailing the Gods, even cursing for giving us this grief but by God's grace you came out of it and my joy knew no bounds. As I read through what I have typed here, I feel like the child inside me has come out.
I have never told u I love you a lot, so I say now I love you a lot, more than words can say. It is a feeling that I cant express to u and just hope and pray God gives you good health. I have never told you sorry, sorry for not being what you wanted me to be and for choosing something I wanted to be, and sorry if I have unintentionally caused you any pain. I never told you a thank you, thank you for being so supportive and loving, thank you for everything, practically everything that you did and are doing for all of us. Thank you for making us better human beings and thanks for being such a loving parent to us. When I look back and think what I have done in return, I fail to think of even one thing that I have done for you. I ask you to please take care of your health, because we are still small children at heart who want your guidance and blessing throughout our life. May God bless You and Mom.
All the daughters and sons, please give your Dad a hug and tell him you love him. This will be the most wonderful feeling you would experience in your entire life.

Well said Pushpa ! A whole-heartedly expressed love and nothing (any word or event) is silly or stupid or meaningless when you convey your love to anybody. Only affection or love stands out there
