Lord Subramanya/ Muruga/ Karthikeya is the main Hindu God of war and victory worshipped primarily in the areas with Tamil influences, especially South India, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Malaysia, Singapore, Reunion Island etc......
He is the commander -in-chief of the the army of the Devas.....
He is considered the God of Tamil language and He is mentioned a lot in "Tamil Sangam Literature"- (Ref.- Legends, Classical Standard Epics and Mythology).......
Now coming to the rangoli drawn- the big letter with a tiny one by its side in white is, the letter "Om" in tamil...the red letters around the Om are the vowels and consonants of the Tamil language....... The writing in Tamil above and below the Divine Spear says "Ara Haro Hara" -meaning-"Oh God Almighty.. Please remove our sufferings and grant us salvation."........
