Multicolored flower

A beautiful picture of Lantana flowers! Brings back childhood memories. My friends and I used to roam around our local park, looking to suck these flowers. The nectar is really sweet.
Some parts of the plant is believed to be poisonous, but I don't recall falling sick because of the nectar.
I tried to grow this flower two years back in my garden, but after a couple of months of blooming, it died because of the arrival of winter.

I have goosebumps now Rajamma. This flower has so many childhood memories for me too Lata - we too used to suck this pretty flower for the nectar and we eat the black berries from this plant also - they used to be very sweet and tasty...

Oh yes, I forgot the blackberries. Yummy.

Hmm remember?? I can still remember the taste. We all used to fight for these berries...

Nice picture....the leaves are semi-poisonous....i read somewhere, if the tongue is scrubbed using it, will make one dumb for couple of days....in some african tribe, this was used by the people when they had to go court and lie for someone, this would make them not to talk and henceforth save them from telling lies.
