Seeing the strands of kolams colored differently makes it so much easier to trace the path of the strokes. It also makes it appear easy to draw for people who might be beginners in making kolams.

Just observe closely my right hand. There are 4 different colour Chaalk pieces held between the knucles of my hand. Holding them tightly and all the chalk pieces should be outside the fingers only, say one centimetre protruding out. On the rough surface excellent MUGGULU may be produced.
