Margazhi dew drops kolam contest 2011
Hi all, there are 35 members participating in this chikku kolam contest. We’ve published all the entries that were received, along with the dot structure. The dots can be viewed by clicking on the “dots” option from the menu of the kolam. Here are all the much awaited contest entries! Enjoy, comment, and VOTE! 
Voting guidelines:
You can vote for a kolam by clicking on the number of stars you think the kolam deserves (5 stars translates to - “great work!”, and 1 star means “looks okay”).
Participants and new members are not eligible to vote.
Winner would be announced in a week’s time, on the 26th of this month.

Aahhhaa rajamma mam is in high spirits it seems....waiting to see ur margazhi kolams too mam...viji mam no competition at all...just as we both r into our first margazhi season here at ikolam this yr...we r going to enjoy d maximum...and sudha mam thank u and waiting to see ur kolams too...

Sure, you can put/copy the ones already published here.
Akila, you're welcome to showcase your work here anytime as you might already know.
But for the contest, members who have already won atleast once in this site are not eligible to participate. And this is only to encourage and motivate other members and to give them a deserving chance to win (to the best of our ability).

The floor of our apartment is white tiles and kolam with white powder will not be visible at all. Can I use some colour for the background filling?

Oh yes, ofcourse. You could use white and/or color powder to make your chikku kolam. Background filling is completely upto you, we only want a chikku kolam with two pictures (first one with the dot grid and the other one with the completed pattern).

Dear Sheran,
Make a chikku kolam for the contest. Take two pictures; one with the dot grid and the other of the finished kolam. Upload in this site using the "Upload rangoli" from the top menu, and wait for everybody's entries to be published on jan 17th.
Pushpa, using rice paste for the contest is fine too.

If we use an online voting poll for this contest, then all members are eligible to vote for all entries (participants and non-participants). All of our rangolis (regular and contest entries) have the commenting feature turned on so everyone should be able to comment at all times.

hi everyone,
i am not sure if i can ask this here. I uploaded my MIL 's kolam couple of months back. But till now it has not been displayed in the gallery. She is very good. Infact my SIL (indubabu)uploaded her new year kolam and is displayed. So can anyone let me know what is the procedure to have her kolams displayed in gallery. thanks

Dear Bharathi, both of your files (dots and completed pattern) got uploaded successfully. You should be able to see all the entries on the 17th.:)
Dear rajapriya, you could use "upload rangoli" link to upload your files. Yes, calling it "Margazhi dew drops kolam contest" does make our job easier.

Dear organizers,
I have uploaded some chikku kolam for the Marghazhi dew drops contest.. I did not have a photo of only the dots , because this was not made specifically for the contest.. so I have included the dots in a paper.. I hope this will still qualify.
