Melted sugar is solidified in molds of predefined shape. These together with the carved coconuts are offered to the bride at the time of marriage. Since goddess tulasI is the bride here, these also form part of the ceremonial offerings. In fact, when we were young we used to save some crackers to be set off during this festival.

We call the mold as well as the final product as sakkare acchu (sugar mold).

thank you friends...lata the fruits also made of sugar ...readymade sugar molds (dolls,fruits,bowls etc..) is available in B'lore..in chennai also available..only for orders..the wood molds are available in mylapore, opposite to kapaleshwar temple..for pooja we prepare in the house.for weddings we give orders..
