I love to read and write stories. Here's one of my first stories I had written. Any criticisms n feedback are welcome.

Life – short story collections

'I dont care', said Ivaan and he slammed the door behind him. Ishita was shocked!
How could her husband say that!!! He dint care? Was it true? Tears welled up in her eyes as she happened to look at the table nearbly. Ivaan had looked so cute and madly in love with her. The photo was taken just after the wedding and he had lifted her in his strong arms! Ishitaa was all taken by surprise wen she was lifted by Ivaan @ the wedding!
She never thought him to be that romantic! The tears trickled down her cheeks but she wiped their photo frame instead. Its been almost 3 yrs to their marriage and she still felt something missing in their life.

Ishitaa was feeling frustrated. The past few years had been difficult for her. She was forced to leave her job and move out of India with Ivaan. They had moved to Zambia. Ishi had never been away from her parents before...but her mom said, 'this is how life is, my dear..dont worry abt us..u take good care of yourself'. Unfortunately within 3 months of her moving out, her father had a heart attack which he could not survive. She could not wish him a proper goodbye or have a last look at him...She felt heartbroken and couln't face her mom. She just kept weeping for days. She had loved her dad like every daughter did! She remebered the days with her father and felt worse that her mom will now be lonely. She wept profusely for 3 days and was more diappointed because her mother was still not out of the shock. Her mother didn't cry even once. She sat in the study near her father's table and then remained there. It was as if she never knew wat was happening around!

On the 10th day after her father's last rites n rituals Ishi went to her Mom she bent to tap on her mom's shoulder wen she felt dizzy n fell into her mother's lap. She dint knw how many hrs had passed but it was dark wen she woke up. A lady walked into her room and switched on the lights. 'Ishi beta, how r u feeling now? You must take care of urself in this condition ok?' Condition??what condition? asked Ishi. The lady smiled and went back outside. Where's ma? Ishi called out. Ma walked in to the room and for the first time in these 10 days she saw her mother's eyes wet. She looked a lot older now and a bit weak too. In the dim light she looked a bit eery to her. Pale and eyes with dark circles, loose hair she looked so different than wat her mom used to be.

She felt a pain emerging from her heart and choking her throat. Ma! she croaked and ran to hug her. They cried together then for hours. After a few minutes Shanta came with dinner. Ishi was hungry but she dint feel like having dinner, but her mom took the plate in her hand and fed Ishi, like she used to wen Ishi was a kid. She used to love it wen she used to get pampered during childhood.

Her mom smiled weakly n said, 'I will take good care of u. U need not worry as u still hv ur mom. U can be with me till the delivery of your baby.' Ishi looked surprised as she swallowed the food, 'baby?' Ma wat r u saying? Her mom's eyes shined brightly now, 'You are pregnant my sweety pie. You are abt to be a mother.' Ishi stared at her mom and she suddenly realised everything.

It was this news that brought her mom out of the shock! She now had mixed feelings. Happy abt the good news but sad that her father was not arnd to share this news and celebrate wih them. I have to tell Ivaan she thought and suddenly she blushed. She touched her stomach and got excited.

'I cant let you stay there for that long Ishi, you knw I need you here'. Ivaan did not want her to stay with her mom till the due date. He had wanted her to come back to Zambia immediately.
'I cant do it alone Ivaan, I need assistance. Just try and understand, please!' Ishi was losing her patience. Was she developing the mood swings from now itself?
