AAdi amman pallayam(padaiyal)

dear friends,
Yesterday as it was Aadi Sunday in my brother's place at trichy they did adi pallayam(Padiyal) for Agasa Mariamman. that is every year we use todo this. this function is celebrated to cool the marriamman and to get bleesings from her. we use to have one separate sombu (vessel) for that.we should not use this for other prupose.my mother will bring water either from well or river.on top o fthe sombu they will keep veppilai. while bringing water no one should come in front of her. she will be in full swing of marriamman's arul. they will put very big banana leaf in that they will spread two to three kgs of cooked plain rice. they will pore all the rice over the leaf and make it like two eyes. in that open space on one side they will pore milk and another side curd. that is palperuguvadhu pol selvam perugum and udal vallam sirakkum.that is we will get good health and money. all the family members should put rice and pore mil and curd. tey will keep sigar( Suruttu), small oinion and Pazhziya sadam.(First day cooked rice wiht water) for neivedhyam they will make pal kozhakattai,vella adai 9Sweet) thullu maavu( maavilakku maavu),panagam,neer more,cut fruits. i just want to share this with you all with photo taken there.
