Month of shravana is busy with all festivals. For the month long poojas, gets all busy and Gejje Vastra is done to decorate at the end of the pooja. Gejje Vastra is done with cotton and some glitters to hightlight. Here are the cotton garlands/ chains/ necklaces made by my sister. I normally help her with the design selection or some drawings. Else she picks up any jewellery advt and tries to get them done in cotton.

Anirudh, your sister also talented like you I think. why she is not participating in kolams? Here the gejje vastra look like real jewellery. Beautiful hand work!

Wow what excellent creativity Anirudh - by the way what is her name?? Also just wanted to know how she manages to get the shape of the petals to stand firmly - does she use any wire inside the cotton??

) is most sought design in our household almost all of our aunts/ friends got it done & learnt from her.
Sure rajammaji, will tell her, but now quite busy with her new work and more over she needs some boosting, which my other sister used to do
lakshmiavare, i am very sure you will definitely make it more ornamental with more complicated designs
hi judy, there is no wire, its just plain cotton rolled little tighter than the normal wicks. The aDDike (middle one in the second pic - inspired from my granny's old necklace, sad thing is the original gold one is not with us
