PC having Internet connection is more vulnerable for Virus attack. and also Data carrying devices such as USBs and/or MP3 devices spreading the viruses whenever you plug them in to your system, the "Auto run" feature will boot up the pen drive automatically, thus infecting your computer by those viruses.
Likewise, "Auto Play" feature in Windows could also annoying. A small window will pop up each time you insert the pen drive or CD or DVD into the computer, asking what you would like to do with those files. you should disable the "Autorun" and "Autoplay" feature in your computer to minimise the chances of getting virus into your computer.
There are aound 3 to 4( not Sure) methods to disable those features. Steps to disable the both features is slightly different for each operating systems (Win XP, Win Vista, Win7) and its easy too. just a basic knowledge is enough to do that. lots of tutorials are available in internet to do this. just google it. and each and every tutorial or post have a feedback whether its working! or not working! like that.
FYI : If a Pen drive contains virus, there would be a file "AutoRun.INF". Its a self executable virus .( No need to click or open, it will runs itself as soon as u insert) and it is hidden too. so it is always better to make your hiiden files visible. it will be useful to track virus....
Sorry for my bad english?!

Mohanaji, we can certainly hug our laptops and notebooks.
Mr.Jayavijan, you've given us some good advice. I'm glad you took the time to give us the details. Just wanted to add one last thing; I'm still searching for your part of English that was "bad".
