About paDikOlam-14 : PRINT

As an experiment, I did 90% of this paDikOlam using MS Paint. In fact this is my very first attempt using this software. Comments are welcome!

This one is a very good initiative. But this doesn't look like a one done in MS paint so accurate ans so symmetrical. Hope to see more designs like this in future. Please carry on the work.

mOhanaji, you have used the 'air brush' option very effectively! Looks very traditional in black, white and brickred combination!

I like the "powder" texture of the strokes, looks realistic and pretty.

When we draw a rangOli straight line, it always comes out as a line with some spread of the powder. In scientific terms, the straight line is the "signal" and the spread is the "noise". To get a feeling for actuality, noise can be deliberately introduced in computer created rangOlis. This is achieved by several different programs in several different ways. Some call it "explosion" and some call it "noise spread". However, the noise must be bare minimum to get the desired effect. If it is too much, then one gets unnecessary spread blurring the whole picture. However noise spread is not blurring. Blurring is done to spread some imperfections so that they will not be prominently visible. I call blurring as astigmatism. To an astigmatic guy, without glasses, everything and everybody looks beautiful Smile

interesting one mOhanaji.....the noise surely glitters, looks good...and the lotus at the corners have comeout well.
lataji, we need more space for mOhanaji's padikolams to get more clear and bigger/best view.

Sorry Anirudhji, mOhanaji is only supposed to post images that are 500 pixels wide. Actually, this image is 503 pixels wide, and he went 3 pixels over the limit. But, I am a very nice person, so I made an exception this time. Smile

You are certainly a nice person latAjI, everybody knows about it! I thanked dedicated people like you in my blog once for their interest in the Indian culture, arts and literature. I think we must all know the birthday of ikOlam and celebrate it as latA kalaimaNi day.
