Here are a few more vegetables that are home grown in the summer. There are cucumbers, tomatoes, pole beans, ladies finger and peas (shown in order).

Glad you think so Jayaji.
Judy, I thought the shape of the one on the right looked funny, sort of like a bottlegourd. The answer to your question; no, the shape of the cucumbers available here are the cylindrical, elongated ones, like the tender one growing on the left side, the right one was more of a funny surprise for us

Okhra grows very easily here where we live Padma, but for some reason many Indians who live here do not know that it can be grown in their backyard

Here is something to make you feel better Padma; I heard from my friend that she was able to grow Curry leaves and Plantain very easily when she lived in Florida. But in California, you need to consider yourself lucky if you succeed growing curry leaves. Mine is struggling to survive

Curry leaf did survive, but grows very slow. And now, the fall season in here, which means the temperatures are starting to dip, and it is time to baby our curry plant once again. Sometimes, I wonder it this is worth it! Crazy me

Lata, Try putting nallaa pulicha mor {SSSSour buttermilk] in the pot of the curryleaves plant. I have heard that it gives good smell for the leaves and the plant grows nicely. If temperature is the culprit, then this may not work. give a try.

Thank you for the tip Jayanthiji, I'll give it a try. Only thing is, I might need a nose-mask, as the plant sits right next to my desktop (is an indoor plant, and would die if we changed its surroundings in its formative years)

Yes, they can all be grown in India. Actually, it is easier to grow these in India because these vegetables grow in warm weather, so you can grow most of these year round.
