Instant publish
We have decided to instantly publish most of our members' rangolis who have been members in this site for at least more than an year. The rangolis would get displayed instantly in members' galleries, and also on the main Rangoli page (displays the latest rangolis).
We still would have to moderate to a certain level to showcase the rangolis in the front-page.
The cafe posts, recipes, and pictures could also be seen via your galleries. Previous layout did not display cafe posts and recipes in member-galleries.
It would be helpful if members added the appropriate tags such as: freehand, dotted kolam, margazhi, and so on.
The "grid" part is only for the number of dots, and not to be confused with "tags".
Some of our new members have been uploading the same rangolis many times, since they don't see the rangolis getting displayed immediately. Please give us one to two days to display.
We will let you know if there are any updates.

Sometimes with over interest I forgot click save button, and again uploaded the same rangoli kolams. Mam, please make my gallery viewable. I wanted to comment on your rangolis individually, to let you how beautiful they look, but couldn't do so due to lack of time. Thank you for the wonderful treat.
Regarding the gallery, please give me a few more days, since I'm out of town and would be back in office only after five days.

Latha!!!! Thank you for the instant Publish option. My system at home is corrupted hence I am not able to post my kolams & comments regularly. Somehow today I found sometime and I am uploading all my kolams from my sisters house. Hope you all enjoy this.

1) How does one see the latest published rangOlis? I am not able to see whereas others seem to see them. 2) Default display always seems to be for freehand rangOlis. Is it possible to alternate between freehand and dotted ones. At the moment you have to press the button for the dotted patterns. Regards! - mOhana

I wish you had asked us that sooner...or maybe I should've enclosed the part where it says main "Rangoli" page in quotes, to draw attention to the ""Rangoli" tab from the main menu. I assumed everyone knew.
Please click on the "Rangoli" tab from the main menu to see the instantly published rangolis (doesn't matter which category; dotted and freehand).

That I knew. But there are two running displays - one at the top that by default is for freehand rangOlis and the second below that where both run continuously. I was under the impression that the first one at the top is by selection and the second one displays the latest rangOlis too. The first one at the top, by default, is only for freehand rangOlis and unless one presses the dotted rangOlis below that, one does not get them on the top page. Also, when neither freehand or dotted is mentioned, where does it go? At times, it happens for everyone. Thanks and regards - mOhana

I think I get what you're talking about. The running displays in the front page are the slideshows which show about 6 slides per each category. Yes, the default is set to freehand since there are always more freehand than dotted rangolis. But one could easily click on the other categories and see the files appearing below, in a sequence. I usually edit each file and add a separate tag to showcase the different rangolis inside the slideshow. Again, like I had mentioned before, not all rangolis are channeled via these slideshows. That used to be the case before the "Instant" option was made available. Also, each rangoli is supposed to carry a tag such as "freehand" or "dotted kolam". Based upon the tag, the rangoli ends up in the appropriate category. Some members remember to add the tags while posting their rangolis. Some don't. I used to edit and add all the tags before publishing each file prior to the instant publishing arrival. But now, I can hardly keep up with the Indian time zone or the instantly published rangolis, and although still tag some rangolis, am not able to tag all of them once they have already been published. Ideally, the tagging part should be done by the authors when they are posting the title, grid, description, level, and the image. All rangolis end up in the member galleries in the order of the published time, regardless of tags.
I must also add that the slideshows are slowing down the server time on the front page, so we have plans to narrow things down a bit, in the near future.
