Please give us your feedback. There are some of the menu links to be re-arranged and a few minor fixes to be care of in the next couple of days.
Thank you all for your patience.

Wow...another new feature...Just now I uploaded a kolam and it has appeared on the front page..I am just wondering how to keep the track of new rangolis so that I would not miss something.
Ya i too saw it sowmi but d page says u r not authorized to view it...may be after sometime lata will be giving d comment section open...shall wait ...
In one word, beautiful! Coming to the details - (1) It is easy to go back to the older rangOlis. (2) It is also possible to correct mistakes in the writeup submitted along with the rangOli. (3) More comments may be seen in one screen. (4) Alphabetical ordering of the gallery was more convenient than the age of membership; now we have to search for the names of individuals. Mrs Lata and Mr Mani deserve a lot of bouquets for the great efforts put in. Regards! - mOhana
Wow, excellent, the way of involvement for you and Mr.Mani, hats off to you Lata. Lovely and beautiful layout, it may take a day or two for me to understand the features. Thank you very much for the change.
Dear Lata, On the whole, let me congratulate you and Mr Mani for making this remarkable change in the website and that too on it's 8th B'day. The new look is very much comfortable than the previous one as we can easily have access to the old rangoli submissions. One thing is that the arrangement of names in the gallery. I think alpabetical order will be comfortable than the date of joining.
Yes maha and push and lata...we r going to have a dhamakedaar diwali this yr...for sure....me too felt the same thing about d gallery..alphabetical order is more easier than d present one...
Thank you for taking so much pains to give a new look. It is like cleaning the house before Diwali and rearranging things in a new way! I have to get used to it. Like vijaya sowmay I am also wondering how to keep track of new kolams. Also alphabetical gallery seems to be better with uid in brackets. Will sit and go through everything and learn again! Thank you
Wonderful, the new look & feel is very pretty.
When given something you like to have more. Just a thought for e.g Submitted by "" in any rangoli page, can it be linked to that person's gallery? I am not sure how easy is this one. Else the names listing in gallery has the userid in brackets would also be helpful....yeh dil mange more :-)
Lata...love the new look...however, I would like to see the member names in the gallery in alphabetical order. If I have a few favorites that I would like to follow, it would be easy to find them when given in alphabetical order...this is what I feel, thanks:)
Lata And Mani sir, I am running short of words to express about the new look for the site, It is really very very Fantabulous, colourful and also I liked the section Rangoli of the day. I think every one will be keen to take the spot one or the other day. Thanks a ton for all your efforts, strain and giving a big treat for all the members on IKOLAM's birthday.wait and watch !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lata, one more thing which I observed is, the latest rangoli uploads are getting mixed up with the old uploads. For E.g., this morning, I clicked the link for free hand rangolis to check if there are any new uploads or still same as before but then I could see some new rangolis (which I didn't see yesterday in that order) are shuffled in between the old uploads. So there is a chance that these rangolis may not be visualised by others. Only a few people will view and comment.
Maha, certain rangolis will not be shown in the front page in the new layout. But, clicking on "more" link in each category should make it all visible in the order published. Sometimes, a member uploads a file but the image doesn't get rendered right due to various reasons. In such cases, we can swap the image part later on, but the file will still show up in its original spot (date/time).
I'm still tweaking the "upload rangoli" page as we speak, and will include a "not accepted" message for certain rangolis that are unfit, to notify the members the status about thier files. More on this later.
latAjI, Am I right in assuming that in the present layout, all the rangOlis in the gallery are visible to everyone in full size with comments, except that the person cannot offer comments without logging in. Regards! - mOhana
Yes Mohanaji, by design all rangolis should be accessible for viewing, for all the users who are logged in. At present, I'm noticing a caching problem and am looking into it.
latAjI, May be I didn't phrase my question properly. My question is - even for nonmembers and the general public and the google searchers and the members who don't log in, are all the galleries and comments visible? That is what it looks like now, am I right? Regards! - mOhana
Yes, that's right, anonymous users can view things in both small and big sizes, for now. But, it is temporary, and we made it that way as a workaround to certain caching issues. In a day or two, we would require all anonymous users to register, and enjoy the bigger images.
Hi everybody,
Thanks so much for the nice words regarding the site layout.
Regarding the site layout; the new layout went online with about eighty percent completion. And more work is being done on a daily basis to finish up the pending work.
About the gallery: I had planned to show three layouts/displays for the gallery. The old style of arranging in alphabetical order was one among the three. But, after transfer of old content, only this display got rendered without any problems. The other two displays will be in use from next month.
Viewing, or keeping track of new kolams should be easier with the current layout for the following reasons: Members mostly upload rangolis that can be categorized as freehand, dotted, and the ones made for festivals. These categories are now shown separated, provided with a “more” link that takes you to a view with the rest of the rangolis published till date. So, even for a visitor who visits the site only twice or thrice a week, one click at the “more” link in all of our main categories should give a complete picture.
The page that shows you the bigger image of a rangoli will contain a small section on top of the image to showcase part of your profile, and will contain fields like user names (first/last) and location. This will help is making the association between the usernames and the actual names where ever required. The link to the gallery is going to be provided in the profile area, and also in the individual images as well, in the profile section.
The “upload” rangoli page will contain additional fields in the near future.
There are a couple of more features to be introduced and will update you all when they are ready. Like I mentioned earlier, only eighty percent of work was finished in the site and we couldn’t have postponed until the entire plan was implemented, owing to the impending contests.
Thank you all for your valuable feedback.
Thanks for d update lata....hmmm still a 20% new features on d way...good news...regarding that upload -not-fit feature it will be useful for us to improve further regarding our file size or anything for that matter...
