yA yA yA ......
Most of the religious heads (maThAdhipatis) are preoccupied with preaching about God and reaching their devotees and teaching them about bhakti. But occasionally, there are some great poets too among svAmIjIs. Sankara, vEdAntadESikan and vAdirAja are some such poets. vEdAntadESikan wrote a book called pAdukAsahasram. It consists of one thousand poems on the sandals of God. It is divided into various chapters called stabakas. One such chapter is called chitrastabaka. In this chapter, various chitrabandhas are employed. One such is a poem with the same letter repeated 32 times in the four lines. Even though the letter is the same, its meanings are different (this is called yamaka in alankAra SAstra). That letter is yA. madhvAchArya too wrote one poem with 32 bhA's. Here is a picture with 32 yA's. The meaning of the poem is given below.
These pAdukAs beautify the God. They help to obtain the good and the holy. They bestow knowledge and kindle a desire to be with Him. They remove all hostility. They reached the godhood. They are used to travel from one place to another. With them all places may be reached. These are the pAdukAs of vishNu.
Enjoy!

JKM sir, in the home page when I saw this topic, i thought it's gonna something about the song - "Ya ya ya yadhava enikkariyam" from the movie Devaragam. hah ha ha.
However this discussion is also about the poems written on 'Yadhava' only.

Thanks everybody! There are many more erudite scholars. What little I know, I try to share it with others. I don't know how many of you know the story of anantavrata. There a brahmin who kept all the knowledge to himself without sharing it with others becomes a tree in a forest whose existence remains unknown to others. That is why it is important to share with others. In fact there is so much knowledge on the internet to create which people and institutions have spent a lot of time. chitra kavitva is very interesting. Actually there are many books on this art. More on this in another blog

Yes mahAlakshmI ma'am. I did read about the sad demise of chitrA's daughter in the newspapers. I think she is autistic. Do you know, autistic children as well as children with the Down syndrome are very affectionate.
